Well there you go!

Looks like the Softtail takes the biggest hit.

Only the Wideglide, a couple Softails, and the 883R. The rest of the Dyna, Softail and 883 lines will continue.

Don't know if you saw the newsletter from the Denney's HD site, but here's the article from it pertaining to the changes in the 08 lineup:

There's another thread talking about the wide glide going away...
I don't buy it, and no silly speculation thread is going to change my mind. I'll believe it when it's on just one website.... www.harley-davidson.com.

Still...I'll speculate....if it does go away, all I have to say is this.... FXDWG4

Well,

You can believe this or not, but I have a friend that has a cousin that knows a guy in Florida that used to have a next-door neighbor that before he moved, gave him the name of a guy that was in Oregon that got his bike worked on by a guy at a dealership that moved to Texas and started up and Indy shop with a partner that had a grandfather in South Carolina that had a godson that formerly worked in the Kansas City plant that still has connections that has it on good authority that..........hey, what was I talking about anyway?????

Think back to the late 50's. The K, KH and KHK were to be dropped. The next year the Sportster came out, designed specifically to compete with the Triumph 650. So now, one Springer, Wideglide, Duce, Softail Standard, and the 883R are going away. Could it be to make room for some overpowered monster designed to compete with the Rocket 3?

I belive the Dynas are the ideal of what a Harley should be and that's why I love em so much. That would definately be a sad day if they announced plans to discontinue.
I predict down the road all Harleys will probably have some sort of Vrod engine set up to comply with epa regs. As this occurs, the MoCowill have to do something to add some "Harley mystique" to these bikes to set them apart from the metric competition in order to justify the substantial price difference between them.
