I have an HD quarter fairing and a quick detachable wind screen that I use on my 02 Dyna. Can I source some QR brackets off Ebay and use them in place of the quarter fairing brackets for a quick change between the the two?

 

Bung King makes a lot for '07 up Dynas to do this, http://www.bungking.com/49mm-quarter-fairing-bracket.html , I'm assuming it won't work with the 39mm forks because of some alignment issues with the brow mounted headlight. It would be nice if they could make one that would work. I have an '05 dyna and I'd like to have a QR 1/4 fairing too.

 

The QR clamps can be mounted to to the HD quarter fairing. It just takes some careful grinding on the quarter fairing brackets to mount the clamps. I did this on my XL 1200R a few years ago.

As this is a 39mm front end like the 05 Dyna I'm assuming it would also work on yours. Only thing is I had to extend the headlight forward about an inch to seal the fairing to the headlight.

It only took a couple hours to do. including trip to ACE hardware for bolts and nuts. Hope this helps.

 

Not sure if it's plug and play on the HD 1/4 fairing, but I used my QR clamps off my old windshield to mount my Ness OG fairing onto my 05 FXDL. Needed a headlight relo, I got the one from DK Customs. Love it
