Picked up odds and ends from the powder coater today. I went with gloss black with a flake in it. I really like the color... In fact, now I kinda wish I had used it on my motor where I had used Liquid Black last year...

They wrapped everything when I picked it up, and I didn't want to unwrap everything until I'm ready to reinstall, but here's one side of the quick-release back rest. Kind of difficult to photograph, but you get the idea...

They do nice work, including two-tone stuff. And there are always some interesting pieces waiting to be picked up...

Got the fairing back from the paint shop, strapped it on and went for a ride.

Oil change. Found an alarming amount of steel on the drain plug. Getting ready to open her up 😒. Wish me luck.

So yesterday i tore down the cam chest and to my surprise there's not a single shaving anywhere to be found. The rear inner needle bearing appears to have minimal wear on the outer race as if the cam was running out of round. Other than that everything looks good. The lifters don't show signs of wear or drag, there's nothing but oil in the oil pump or the pickup. The gears in the pump don't look like they've had shavings rolling around inside. Neither the main bearing or the shaft look trashed. I fished a long magnet around in the oil bag and got absolutely nothing.

going to check run out today when i get home with a smaller mag base.... am I being paranoid?

That's good new so far. I think you're taking good care of something you obviously love - nothing wrong there. Keep us posted!
