I'm getting ready to ride it out to Summerville to see my sister - 60 mile ride. Going to have a look at her Kawasaki Vulcan, the rear wheel is locked up - it's been sitting + the PO converted it to belt drive and I dont think he did a very good job of it. But, it's my sister and I will try to help her out.

Finished spraying clear on the new paint. Will wet sand and buff when I get home and have bike assembled just in time for the rainy weekend we are to experience after the 3 days in the 70s with sun we've had. Gotta love it

Today I'm going to round up some chrome I took off the bike...going to put them back on later.

I also bought a chrome defiance gauge bezel. I think it ill look good since I had the tank dash on my FXDB chromed. The gauge bezel on the gauge now is dull looking aluminum color.

I like the look of that bezel. Does it slide over the old one or do you have to pry the old one off?

It slides over the existing bezel. It has some sticky tape on it to hold it in place. just peel the sticky tape film off the inside of the bezel then press it firmly on for about 15 seconds - it should stay on until you are ready to take it off.

This.FXDB runs and rides like a champion. I think I nailed it. Some fine tuning and I think it will be like a Swiss watch.

Best feeling in the world when a build meets all your goals.

I had a nice 60 mile ride home this morning. Damn this bike is running great! I pulled it back into the shop, going to order a couple things today that I want to put on it. I'll clear off the desk in the shop a little, gather up some parts. I may pull the current S&S teardrop air cleaner off the bike. I have the newer version that is 85% the size. I probably wont install that today though.

Edit: on second thought. I am not pulling anything off it. I am not going to do anything but ride it for a while.

Edit 2: I just ordered some dress up chrome from Surdyke. A few pieces - one of which will keep me occupied. I'll have to do some detail work prior to installing one of them so it will have time consuming therapeutic value. The bike could use some chrome, but I don't want to get tacky with the chrome...we'll see how it goes.
