After a thorough cleaning of the entire area, spray the whole area with some aerosol foot powder--I prefer Tinactin.

The source of the leak will show up quickly upon running the motor, and the powder cleans up easily.

You got to hold the seat up an inch or two and try to wrench the nut off. I think it took me an hour doing a 1/8 of a turn at a time. I just couldn't get my fat fingers in there.

I took it off because I think the bike looks a little bit better/cleaner without the strap. Also, my passenger never uses it and it makes the seat much easier to get off without that strap.

Thanks for that information. Too bad you weren't there when I was struggling for an hour trying to get that nut off with the seat in place.


Sundowner is a good bang for the buck. I have one that I swap onto my bike for two up riding and longer trips. To me, it looks a bit funny on a Dyna, but it feels a lot better than the stock seat. Be aware, it seems to sit the rider a bit forward and higher. Might just be me though....

There was a video on ig where a guy was tracking his dyna only for his Adapter to bust off and spray oil all over his rear tire while goin in a sweeper causing him to crash and wreck his bike.
