Installed a 12volt power outlet on the LRS dash for a GPS and other stuff. Was hoping my Burley bags would arrive before the 800 mile round trip for poker chips. Oh well, tail bag it is.

The 2008 FXDF lower triple tree has arrived. Now the fun begins!
Temporarily installed the lower triple tree to use as a vice for the fork tube to get the upper caps off, used a crescent wrench for the upper caps, Turned the forks over, some parts fell out, and going to let them drain overnight. As you can see in the last picture, the fork caps are still in great shape.
I forgot to order the progressive spring kit 11-1546. I did that a little while ago.
I removed the lower triple tree assembly. Here are the parts that came out of the front forks. What, if any of these parts will be re-used?! I have little idea what I'm doing at this point. I've never worked on fork tubes before. I may need some help at some point. Hopefully the progressive spring kit has some instructions.
I packed the steering stem bearings with fresh HD Special Purpose Grease and then installed the lower triple tree assembly.
