I'll eventually stop taking it apart and start putting it back together. Right now I want to get the tank off so I can access the wires that need to be run through the new handlebrs and connected to the new bars. I think my girlfriend is pissed because I have been spending so much time with the bike.
I can't win!

Anyway, today I have but one goal - to get the fuel tank disconnected and taken off then stored in a safe place. Anything more than that it's all good.

You should be able to get to those wires without taking the tank off. They are in the grommets on each side of the frame under the front tank mount.

I guess I just like to have stuff completely out of my way.

Better pay attention to the GF, or she may be out of your way too. They get that way when they don't get exactly what they want. tp

Yeah, but you can get a new gf for a couple of beers. A new bike requires a lot more attention and money.
