Dennis Kirk lists this tire at 5 inches nominal, everybody agrees with the tire height at 25.5 inches tall. So until all this stuff shows up I dont know what to tell you other than in either case I have enough clearance to run the V-Rod fender with this tire at the nominal 5 inch dimension. The tire load ratings improved with my tire selection to 63V on the front and 74W on the rear, so no worries there.
Playing with RB racing's rake and trail calculator, and a bit of creative fudging the numbers, with 13 3/8 inch shocks and a front tire .6 inches shorter than stock (.3 lower axial height) should end up with 28.4 (ish) degrees rake and 4.2 (ish) inches of trail. So that looking good for a big cruiser, I will break out the protractor and some string to verify this after the new wheels are on.

Ahh the RSD Morris wheels, you nailed it. It was the connection with the early Sportster Morris wheels that made that decision for me, To my eye its a good looking simple wheel that has a very traditional old school Harley look with modern rim sizes, fairly light too.

Yeah those 7-spoke look good and are additional step back into "old school" jumping past the 9-spoke

It doesn't really matter of course, but I think you mixed something up on the front sizing...you quote 130/70-18 and then 4.7" (see chart)

EDIT:
Oh...and I remember seeing that VRod front fender up on your shelf (some time ago) thinking that it was going on the FXDC, but then it didn't and now it is.

I've been planning on doing something similar using the VRod fender I have a few of them

What the hell did I miss?

This?...

Not a problem

Get one of these

Amazon Amazon

Get a fork seal driver..., or a length of 2" ID PVC

2 to 3' wooden dowel.., 1" or so in diameter (in case the internals spin and you need to stop it)

Fork oil and rebuild kit (may as well rebuild them while apart - its cheap)

One of these

Amazon Amazon

Need one of these., but - go to TSC / Hardware store and build something for a hellodalot cheaper

Then of course various sockets/ wrenches / torque wrench

Also get some nitrite gloves...., rags / catch pan - fork work is messy

I did have an awful time removing one of my baffles. It was rusted and corroded to the muffler. I ended up getting a heavy duty slide hammer on loan from Advance Auto and was able to pull it out using that. Talk about a pain in the *** though!

Shout out to TinCup for help and encouragement, and to Kevin at DK for responding on the weekend and answering my questions.

If anyone wants to see some pics, I created an album with a few pics of the inserts. I originally got the 258s but they were too big so then I got the 158s. Some of the pics are the two next to each other to show the size difference...

Very nicely done! You had to hang tough on that job, some would have given up but you didn't Every success will lead you to the next success, and your confidence in your abilities will grow.

Good on ya!

Couple days old but dismount went much easier with less ramp angle. It did scrape the frame rail tabs going in though so be mindful of that if you go this route. Oh,and the two holes "disappeared " with a lil wood putty. 😇
