I thought about washing mine but instead I shortened the breather hoses. I guess 15,000km of heat had hardened the hose near the clamps and they were starting to look a little frayed after a few re-tightenings.

This is what 2 weeks of average weather looks like.

I would stab out my own eyes before I washed my bike every two weeks.

I'm exchanging for a Mustang Wide Tripper™ Solo with Diamond Stitch Pattern, by now we all know the routine, "I will review it when it shows up"...

: Mike
The Mustang Wide Tripper seat arrived yesterday and was mounted, it was a easy installation with a good fit on the chassis. The seat sits on rubber bumpers and sits back a bit farther from the tank, the seat does not touch the tank like the LePera or the Danny Gray seats do.
The screw that retains the back of the tank bib is visible as are the tank tabs, so the look is a bit more mechanical than the other seats. I like the look but I am using the chrome plastic tank bib from Harley, so that area looks a bit cleaner than it did with the leather tank bib.
The seat sits about 1/2 inch above the battery and electrical caddie covers, this makes cleanup a bit less of a hassle as you can get cleaning and wax towels in that space unlike the LePera or Danny Gray seats that sit almost on top of those covers.
The build quality is very good with a ridged fiberglass pan, nice foam and excellent workmanship on stitching and assembly, all very high quality, a very good value in my opinion.
The Wide Tripper is about the same height and width as the stock Harley seat, the foam is a bit firmer, well padded and is supportive in all the right places, the seat pan is well rounded where your thighs contact it, this is one of the first things I look at when shopping for a seat as it reduces leg cramps for me.
Rider position is subjective, the Mustang seat works for me as it allows enough movement I can move around a bit, when riding twisties this seat allows me to move forward without sliding back as the seating surface is relatively flat. The LePera seat was good for 100 miles before lots of things started hurting as it pinned my butt in one position and the foam wasn't firm enough to keep my butt off the seat pan, but it looked great. All in all this is the seat I was looking for as it is a big improvement in ergonomics with how my bike is set up.
Better photos when it quits raining.

I ride around 1000km every week plus trips so normally my R1200GSA is the bad weather bike and the Harley stays much cleaner. But I'm waiting on some parts for the beemer so the Harley has been bumped up to First wife. She loves it.

Same here, in winter there is no point, the bike gets a "Pommy Wash" and thats about it.
