I think (maybe not...have to look specifically for that) the tanks that have use a short dash originally have a "finished" seam weld

Dunno. Mine sure didn't, but it shipped with a tank bib.

That would make sense.

I could probably deal with the visible weld fillet if it looked like those pictured above: tidy and consistent. Those look like robot welds. Mine looked like production hand welds. Very inconsistent and obviously never intended to be exposed.

A human can definitely make a beautiful weld fillet, but it's very difficult to do in a high volume production environment.

Not today, but yesterday I pulled the fairing off the bike and went for a nice ride. Man, it felt good to have that wind hitting me head on.

I'm about to do a fluid and filter change. Thought I would ask a question before I do.
The bike has sat for the last month, should I start it up before I drain the oils or just let it flow out cold?

Start it, get it warm, that way all the old shitty oil will drain out.
