It presses up from the bottom after the snap ring is removed, and the Vulcan goes up into the bottom tree. But you already knew that, didn't you....
Actually it should come out the bottom...don't even have to remove the snap-ring, but I would

Measure the steps on the stem now that it's out. It gets bigger moving to bottom of the stem. You pressed the biggest end (just a few Thou bigger) all the way though the tree...must have taken a bunch of pressure

I guess we could call that "broaching". That snap ring throws people off...counter-intuitive

I rode to work again today...beautiful clear bright Texas Gulf Coast kind of morning...great morning for a ride. Was getting ugly when I headed for home and managed to do a pretty good job of skirting the rain home and would have made it too except for I forgot to top off the tank after the last ride and had to go on reserve and make a gas stop...got wet about a block from the garage.

But then, it was neat...it was warm and I was close to home...and these Dynas can get a little squirrelly on fresh-wet roads and can pucker you right up...good for the soul.

Interesting. I will mic it tomorrow. Since I used the 50-ton hydraulic press at work, it really didn't take much effort for the press to push it out. I paid no attention to the pressure guage. It just slid out. I'm sure the instruction sheet that came with the kit probably said to do it the other way, but who reads those, right? Lol. Probably a real good thing that I properly supported the tree when I did it, or it could have been broken in the process.

Put the replacement O2 sensor in the rear and the original in the front. I was running open loop for a while when the rear sensor failed but the gas mileage was suffering. When I took the bung plugs out there was a significant amount of deposit on it while the rear was pretty clean. I'm curious if it was from before I did the big bore or after.

Finished some kind "rebuild" for the primary, mine was making weird noise, the clutch was shot since I installed the FM 107 kit without upgrading the spring and was badly burnt out (the primary oil came out BLACK AS HELL with lots of particles).

Also my inner primary bearing was almost shot, I also had a striped thread on one of the tensioner bolts that I helicoile'd but for some reason the chain was making a growling noise that I didn't like.

Result, found on ebay a basically new inner primary with the bearing and stuff (only 1700 miles from a crashed bike, the part was in pristine condition) for 100$, for 100$ I had a new inner primary plus the bearing and fresh threads on the tensioner bolts.

Ended up replacing the stock plates with barnett kevlar exra plate + 37871-98A spring + AIM VPC clutch.

Now I feel the torque lol.

Also threw in one of those ebay clear clutch covers, so I can see the VPC spinning, its cool.

Now the bike sounds much better, in the past lots of weird noises came from the primary, now I only hear the valves ticking and of course the pro-pipe

Video that my fiance made, sorry for the quality and lighting.
