What did you do to your Dyna today?

Don't live with Maybe's, or you will never go on that trip. I know that for certain. Last real trip I took was almost ten years ago, and I've let everything else get in the way of going off since then... If not careful, I will be too old to take a long trip ever again. If you need the trip for peace of mind, find a way and TAKE IT.... tp dd50

I scavenged the National Cycle Street Shield EX from my dead VN750 and put it on my super glide. The Vulcan has a 7/8 inch handlebar so I had to do some Dremel work to the top mounts to get it installed. I like it so far!
Took it on a nice 60 mile ride afterwards. 75 degrees in central Illinois today but very windy.

What length tube did you get? Mine (11.5") doesn't show hardly any thread. Maybe the 6-speed bikes use a longer linkage?
Oh, also, how does it feel/work? You're way, WAY ahead of me! I bought a bunch of hardware to unbind the spherical bearing so they rotate more freely, but I've got to customize most of it. Besides, bike don't roll...

As soon as I am able to get out and ride I will let you know how it feels to shift. Shifting my hand is pretty smooth, I don't foresee any issues.
Hardware to install, 5/16-24 x 1.25" allen head bolts. The bolt is threaded thru the trans lever with a washer, rod is slide over the bolt, added another washer and then secured with an acorn nut. The front is pretty much the same with an added 1/8" spacer between the rod and shift lever.

Going with Barnett would have saved you some cash without sacrificing quality, but either way you have some good cables for the new bars.
