I like this look on your bike. I used the same bolt covers until I needed compression releases.

1. I screwed around with standoffs today and when I was done, technically they worked, but the cool factor was gone and there was no air left in the garage, because these mirrors suck.
2. I put them back in the box they came in and the box collapsed around them so tight it looked like shrink wrap, because these mirrors suck.
3. I really wanted to like these mirrors but I hate them because these mirrors suck.
4. I can't show you a photo of these mirrors on the standoffs because my camera imploded because these mirrors suck.

If you really hate them and want them out of your sight, you can always plant in the yard alongside the Tuna
(Sorry, that will make no sense to some)

Hi Cavaria,
Thank you for taking the time to suggest this, it's a great idea, but I can't invert the little mirrors I have, the factory mirrors hit in the same spot, the bars are low and narrow enough, anything I put into that position is into the tank. To give you an idea where the bars are at, the 90 degree cable fitting adjustment sleeve on the idle cable just touches the gas cap at full lock. Bar end mirrors would work great, but I want to keep the bike as narrow as possible.
I just have to eat this, it was a poorly thought out purchase on my part as I believed these were a good alternative to the standard simple 3 inch $10.00 mirror that you saw everywhere in the 70's, but they are to close to the levers and look really awkward setting on top of spacers.
So I ordered a set of these standard 3 inch $10.00 mirrors, should get the job done and they won't look out of place.
The bike has been in work for a while (OK, a really long time) and I'm within days of doing the first shakedown ride, I have been getting hung up on delivery of minor parts and details, I really just want to ride. It's making me nuts .

Nemosengineer,
I'll let you in on a little trick I use...
When ever I make something that "sucks the air out the room", I make it again using plywood and it's just makes things a little better
So, I would make those mirror spacers again using plywood
