Was getting the itch to change my 'T' bars for something else. Took them off and put on a set of Buckhorns I had lying about. Wired them up and didn't like them, took them off and installed the original bars [s-glide 03] and wired them up. Horrible...put the 'T' bars back on....ahhh thats much better...b.

Tried to continue to pull my wires out of the back bone so i can access the plugs so i can swap my bars but 10 inches of wire later still no plugs and cant pull anymore out. So i cracked a beer and stared at it.

Time to pull the tank and take a look at the access panel on top of the backbone.

2004 wide glide. No access panel. I lifted the tank and there is nothing there. I wish.

Finally got my new Russ Wernimont front fender back from the powder coater and got it bolted on today. Really like the looks of it. Way better than the stock fender that Harley slapped on which wasn't event designed to go with a 19" wheel. Also had the ugly bell horn cover coated black to match most everything else on the bike. Some chrome still sprinkled in.

Decided to come up with an external breather so the hot gases are no longer being recirculated back into the engine via the air filter.
Only needed to buy the filter as I had some 1/4" fuel line, small fasteners and an 1/4" 90 elbow plus the Y connector. Cost this round was $11.99 for the filter.
Easy install for the main part and it gave me a chance to clean out the AC as it was on my next list for maintenance.
(Not shown in picture)I hadnt blocked the holes from the old tubing on the upper 2oclock and 10oclock positions on the existing backplate so I used a smaller tube folded and zip tied and used that to block the gap.
Have yet to ride it after this change but it will be interesting to test it out tomorrow and see if there is a difference.
