Here's a link to their site - I ordered off amazon

Two notes (specifically for a 2013 WG - but will likely apply to yours)

It'll required two mods (less than 5 bucks)

1.) Need two nylon standoffs (bolting it without these will knock off the plastic housing holding the 02 & crank sensor plugs)

2.) Will need a spacer - then epoxy that spacer to the regulator..., to secure in the tab for the above mentioned plastic housing

These mods sound more complicated than they actually were - took all of 5 min excluding drying time for the epoxy and matching paint

============

If you go with this one say so and I'll post some pictures of the install..., and parts needed w/ measurements (I bought extras..., seems I'm always buying extras - being the **** retentive bastard I am)

No need re-inventing the wheel

One other note:

Most of the stock pictures that come up w/ a search of the above P/N - are of the wrong regulator - the P/N is the correct one (for a DWG)

Thank you for the detailed write up ghost! I was looking at this one and the drag specialties one. I'll probably be buying one of them this week and I'll let you know

I did get the bung king one. The main problem, which I figured out later, is the charcoal canister (CA model) was in the way of the mounting of the voltage regulator on the crash bar. I didn't really notice, just thought it was a tight fit til I bolted the VR down and heard a very small crack. Everything still works fine and it's just the thin plastic backing on the VR the cracked causing the wire connections to protrude a little. I wrapped it in gorilla tape and that was my $.50 fix. It's not horrible but next time I would file down the fins on the VR to make it fit better and there wouldn't be an issue. This or removing the charcoal canister.

I wouldn't discourage purchasing the crash bar, its a quality product.

Changed out the look of the rear fender a few months ago-

Attachment 522954

It was much cleaner with the plate relo and the lights changed out, but still not "there".

Swapped out the rear fender and used a murdered Model A Tail Light. Much better!

Swapped the 2-up seat for a Rubber Bumper Solo Seat.

And swapped out the 636v A/C for an Outlaw 587 A/C. The 636v worked well, but the look of the 587 matched the look of the rest of the bike better.

Still smiling 15 minutes after first reading your post!

No accounting for taste! Dwayne likes it, and it's his ride, I happen to really like it too.

But I also wish I had put longer cholo pipes on my Softail too.

And to further muddy the water....this traditional Swingarm Softail just won the Peoples Choice in the 2016 Hot Bike Build-Off!

FWIW, I like your Softail more than the winner. Feel like I could ride yours every day, but not the winner... Just me though... tp
