Default What i did to the Dyna today

First i started out by changing some parts today: Front and Rear Pegs, Grips, Light Bezel, front turn signals, new levers. I then finished up with a late afternoon ride to tack on some miles.

Finally got out and put some miles on. Been busy with a new job and traveling, not to mention rain the last several days. Almost a bit chilly this morning, but with nothing important to do I headed out of the city with no particular destination in mind. Ended up stopping at a HD dealer and checked out the new M8 107 motor. Got to admit I'm a bit intrigued by it. It will be interesting if it ends up in the current Dyna platform, or if the rumors are true and the Dyna as we know it will be dead in a couple years, replaced by a common touring/Dyna frame.

Also found a small town brewery and had a pint of Oktoberfest.

Felt good just to be out on the bike and not commuting. The nice days are slowly slipping away.

Put my heat shield back on my Bassani RR 3 pipes after burning a hole through my jeans

Smelled something, then felt my leg getting hot. Looked down to see my jeans smoking...oops

And folks say us Harley riders don't lead exciting lives. Glad it was only your pants. Exhaust pipe burns on the leg are really painful, I know.

Side note

Took longer to get the gamn belt guard off than it took to install both wheels

Back bolt - no biggie

Front bolt - like to kick my ***

Allen head - stripped
Chisel - didn't work
Remove rear foot peg with guard attached
Try drilling it out from the back side - nope
Angle grinder -

(I can't draw or play a musical instrument worth a ****..., with an angle grinder I can make music and art)

Last attachment is what a correctly modified sears jack looks like - bitch works like a charm..., solid as a rock once the wheels locked..., screws screwed down.., and bike strapped down

=============

Second side note

I have a complete set of stock wheels / sprocket / rotors for a WG..., still a few thous miles left on the tires / fit 25MM axles

Anyone can use a helping hand - can have them for shipping

You want them to simply resell - screw you - rather help another biker out

After getting back from a ride I installed a DIY brake pedal pad to raise the reach on it back to were I prefer it. The D&D Fat Cat pipes install had required that the pedal be adjusted down (away from the rear cylinder pipe).
