Mounted the 90/90-21 Pirelli Night Dragon, pulled the forks apart and drained the fork oil; I'm going to experiment with some different lengths of preload spacers and fluid levels with the heavy springs. Fork oil was changed last summer but, meh, 15wt is cheap, even for those thirsty 49mm forks

Took bike out for a ride, it runs well, and seems to love going 70+ on the interstate.

I want to see if I can fine tune things a bit more. The springs are the heavy 11-1546's; the ride is firm but with my always pushing the envelope in corners and practicing threshold braking I was concerned the standards would be too soft. I think I've got a bit too much pre-load so I'll cut some 5" and 5.25" spacers and try them in place of the recommended 5.5" spacers. Especially with the Scorchers, I was able to skitter and break traction with the front under heavy braking.
The Night Dragon's are not nearly as easy to break loose, another reason these Scorchers are coming off the bike; there's lots of miles left on the Scorchers but the Night Dragon's are a better tire. But... too much spring pre-load can cause the front to lose traction under threshold braking.
Fork oil viscosity and level will have the most effect on rebound damping; the front can get harsh with consecutive bumps so I'll reduce the oil level 10mm; it was easier to just dump the fork oil and start again.
Some of the changes I make put me out in the tall grass with no map, if I can't fully dial these heavy springs in I'll switch to the 11-1525 standards and start again. Or, the other option is to put on 50 pounds of body weight... NOT!

No joke, that lift is one of the smartest things I've ever bought for my Dyna's. Absolutely solid; no tie down straps...

Tonight I changed a setting on the fuelpak to hopefully cure some slight decel pop. Taking a ride on Sunday; will see if it helps. Next up the bike will be getting a 21" front wheel, new tire, 14 inch ape hangers, and possibly wide glide triple trees.

Put in a new TPS. Old one got so bad that the engine was flooding on the highway after an hour and would idle at almost 3k. I am wondering how long the old one had been bad because it had always idled higher than what I had set it at and would flood itself after warmup at times. Before I took it off I checked the ECM reading for the throttle position from 0-100% and the ECM was seeing 24-82%! Now is reading 0-99%.

I got some weight you can borrow if needed brother! LOL
I have the heavy duty springs by Progressive (same ones as you I believe) and love them. I don't push things like you do so maybe that's why they feel perfect to me.
I had nasty brake dive before and they took care of that.

Finally got in about 2 hours today and now know that I love this Saddleman RS seat. Never thought once about my butt or tailbone killing me like the old Harley seat. Cool and windy but otherwise decent riding day. Stopped at a nearby lake for a quick glamour shot.

The clamps on my heat shields were shot so I wrapped my pipes today. Used DEI 2" wrap and sprayed with semi flat engine paint. They didn't smoke too much. And I think they keep the heat down as much as the heat shields did.
