What did you do to your Dyna today?
Rode 700 miles from northern California to Williams AZ yesterday. Day 1! Had fierce winds through the desert and 113 degree heat. Fugging brutal. But the last 120 miles from Kingman to Williams was worth every bit of struggle. There is nothing like an AZ sunset from the seat of a harley!!

Have an 06 super glide. Going to be a winter project but not sure what direction I want to go with it. Looks like my first part of the project is going to be figuring out why it has randomly started stalling when coming to a stop. Restarts and runs just fine so maybe the IAC passage just needs a good cleaning? Might pull the throttle body after work and see how dirty it is and clean it up a bit.
Handlebar Pullback
I made a plate to move my bars back 2" center to center. There is something like it on the market, but it is mainly for a touring bike and moves the bars back 2.5". I think my stock HD riser would have hit my speedo housing with the 2.5".
I need to get some stainless acorn nuts for the plate to triple tree bolts and turn the bolts over so the acorn is on top. I also had to use 2 washers on the bolts between the plate and the triple tree to make the plate clear the chrome cap on the steering stem. though 1 would have been enough. I also might in the future cut out an arc on the flat sides and bottom. Straight just needs something, but will work for now.
The steel plate is 3/8" thick (probably overkill) by 5" wide and 3 3/8" deep.
A little prototyping and the mainly finished product:
A few shots of it installed:
Gets the bars back a bit to make them easier to reach with the seat that I like to use. The seat sits me back just a bit too far with my stock HD risers and taller pull back risers didn't feel good to me. This makes them just right!

Finally got the load equalizer in the mail so my LEDs work properly and the red light goes out on the speedo. Easy plug and play .

Last weekend I was able to replace the bent primary cover with a fleabay unit, and did a quick inspection while it was off. Chain tensioner pad looks fairly new considering there's 41k on the clock. Sealed it back up, blead the brakes, adjusted the clutch cable, and now it's road worthy. Noticed that while on the road, the bike idles at 1400-1800 rpm when the clutch is pulled in but when you first start it up it idles at the usual 1k, tried adjusting the idle screw but just stays the same. Plan on rebuilding the carb at some point this fall.
