I installed my shiny new oil filler cap and finally got to put some miles on the bike. The hillside motor is very strong!
My next deal is to install the front lowering springs that I have had for months. I have not worked on the front forks before so hopefully between the Burly instructions and my service Manuel, it won't be that bad of a job.

After a long winter and even worse spring so far here in Cheesehead land . I got the primary and trans fluid changed. I added some Screaming Eagle wires and plugs, installed new Viking Bags to replace the worn out ones on the bike when I bought it. Dk Customs breather kit, and last but not least hooked up the Power Vision 4 I got from Fuel Moto and threw in one of the tunes they happen to send me . Wow what a difference riding Bob with just the better than stock tune they sent me . Hopefully will have front tire replaced soon and maybe get an air filter setup to help with performance even more . Also installed some trim on the Memphis Shades Bat Wing I have along with the lower side deflectors . Now Bring On the Warm Weather .

Default Helicoiled the Clutch Cover Screw Holes

I have the primary cover off (changing out the OEM self-adjusting primary chain tensioner for a Baker Armored Attitude Adjuster). So I used the opportunity to drill and tap the five weak, shallow clutch access cover screw-holes, and install some Helicoils.

These screw-holes always seem to fail sooner or later, as the very short steel screws tend to eat the soft aluminium (as we call it here in Australia ). This is particularly so as the clutch cover comes off for every oil change etc, leading to lots of stress over time on the (maybe) 8 rows of thread in the hole. I felt one going the last time I changed the oil, so put this little job on The List of Little Jobs...

And before you ask, yes, I have a torque wrench (four actually ) and yes I use it, every time I tighten anything, but this particular set of screws gives me the jitters. A relatively cheap, simple job that should lead to years of trouble-free service.

Nice amount of work done.. Now that you have a tuner, it's time for a cam.... For the money there's no better upgrade than a cam..

don't know about a cam just yet , i ride about two hours round trip back and forth to work and still need gas mileage, which with the tune I have in the bike now , it seems to be not as good as stock , but I knew adding fuel to,the already lean tune the OEM puts in these bikes for EPA b.s. An air filter setup will be next that's for sure .
