That's brutal. Literally the only good thing about California at this point is the weather. I''m not sure that's a good trade off anymore but i don't know if i could handle not riding for four to five months. Prayers for a short winter for all you guys!!!

Rode to the gas station. Filled it up with stabilizer and hi-test. Rode home and put it to bed for the winter.

It’s hell sometimes. Every winter I reach a point where getting out on my bike is almost all I can think about, like some sort of anxiety. I’ve been out multiple times in sub 20*. The lowest temperature I’ve ever left the house in is 6*. I don’t do it all that frequently but sometimes I just can’t handle it anymore lol. My refrigerator suit also helps.

I have a habit of tearing into my bike every winter. I plan my mods during the winter, accumulate parts all year then get it on the lift in Oct/Nov and it pretty much stays in pieces until it's time to ride again. It always gets a good cleaning in all the hard-to-reach places too. The saddle bag comes off and gets leather treated, fairing gets cleaned inside and out etc. This winter it's get cammed, a chain drive and new forged FXDLS rims with CruiseTechs front and back. Next winter I don't know yet, maybe a Mickey Mouse setup and some new paint???

Anyhow, working on my bike in my spare time when I can't ride seems to make the time pass easier. After any given work session there's usually a couple of hours of drinking and looking at it while dreaming of the spring.

Took the bike to bike night last night.. Left around 11:30 ok m and 38*, had a great time.. It was one of our sisters Birthday Day, 66.. We had a great time..

I also took a 30 mile ride today, 43*.. Did an auto tune session on one of my tune's only to see that it knocked down a lot of the original tune's VE's.. So I guess that was a waste but the ride was nice.. Perfectly sunny day and the sky was an awesome blue..

Got the fender, caliper, and wheel off. Swapped the brake pads, turned the tire in the tub to find a slow leak from this year, and re-sat the pressure valve hoping that was the leak. Getting stuff together to rebuild the forks.

Default Dismantled, Rebuilt Forks, with RT Gold Valves

I stripped my forks, installed new James gasket/seals/etc/kit, drilled out the damper rods and added Race Tech gold valves (to the already installed Progressive spring), and 20W oil.
Made a really big difference, well worth the minimal time, cost and and effort. Now I need to improve my rear (Progressive 412s, which are fine in the sense that they are the minimum HD should have installed at the factory), as they are now noticeably worse than the front(!) . Maybe I'll get some Ohlins for Christmas

Default FXRT Bracket

Well I've been working on the bagger lately but my paint appointment is coming up for the Dyna so today I fit the FXRT bracket from JD Customs. Unfortunately I had to pull the top tree to remove my GPR stabilizer bracket so that sucked. Otherwise it would have been a bolt and go. Tomorrow I'm fitting the fairing and lowers at my buddies house. We'll be drilling holes in both to get them test fit before paint. Will also be fitting the FXRP bags just to be sure. Bag rails will go to powder amongst other parts. She's gonna be sausy! My garage is not setup to wrench but I do my best.
