What did you do to your Dyna today?
Yeah I'll bet he put 1 1/4"PVC pipe over the 3/4 steel pipe before he put it all together..

Verified with smoke and a long lighter that I have zero exhaust leaks on the new TBR pipes. Road the **** out of her yesterday up to Grandfather Mtn 221>Blowing Rock>321 S.>Lake James. I live near all the “famous” NC named bike roads and have ridden them all. The section of 221 from Linville to Blowing Rock is not a famous named curvy road, but is wayyy more enjoyable than the others that get all the attention. I stay off the BRP, for the most part, as well due to traffic and low speed limits. This particular section of 221 sorta follows the parkway under the Linn Cove Viaduct. I like to get out early, too, and had most of the trip to myself before the tourist got out. No leaves on the trees up there yet!
Anyway, loving this stage 1 setup, seems to have really woken this 96” up. I sold a 2006 Buell XB12x to buy this FXDB, and earlier last year sold a KTM1290 Super Duke GT. That Duke V twin had close to 200hp with some mods. Crazy as it may sound, with just the stage 1 and front and rear suspension mods on my Street Bob, I’m enjoying this bike just as much as the one with twice the HP. I got rid of the KTM for a reason, I felt like it was trying to f’ing kill me.
No issues running without the heat shields, either…….except my boot wants to touch the rear cylinder pipe sometimes. I’ll probably install that small heat shield today on the upper pipe.

Well its not always rainbows and unicorns sometimes!
I pulled the Low Rider out to head to work this morning idling at about half enrichener as I threw on my gear and locked things up, just like always. I heard the idle get rough, then drop to one cylinder, and just as I got to it, stalled completely. No fire at restart. Then I looked down and saw the cam cover wet with trickling gas (quite a bit.) I'm on a schedule so I push it into the car port and jump on the Kaw to get to the office.
I swear that I knew what I'd find when I dropped the float bowl this evening - nothing. The float moves freely, it's not cracked or partially full of gas.
I bent the tab a tweak to shut off the fuel flow a bit sooner, confirmed the successful shut off manually, put it all back together and it's running fine. The infamous 'spec of dirt' has escaped (maybe.)
We'll see, on the way to work tomorrow....

Finished painting the fender last weekend and got it mounted up. The look will take some getting used to but I think it has the intended effect of a 40s style fender. I thought about adding the arms that go to the axle but structurally I don't think it would be a good idea.

The fairing got dinged when I went down last fall so when I talked to the paint guy I asked him to shoot and clear the windshield also. Met this guy by accident but turns out he's my neighbor's brother so I have a little connection. He did outstanding work and didn't bat an eyelash at painting the Plexi or PVC or whatever it is.
