Hi. I am thinking of upgrading my brakes with better calipers. Wondering if the Brembo caliper you put on made a difference in braking performance. Thanks

Kinda like my oil temp gauge, sensor mounted in the back of oil pan.
Not as much about what oil is doing but when it's doing it, JMO...
Ah, also have oil pressure gauge, is that bad.

No not bad to have , but it gives you sticker shock when you read a temp over 200 degrees and think omg 'it's running too hot''...it really isn't, the mc ran these things in the desert at idle...and they were just fine afterward............just because now you have a description as to how hot the oil is can be a bit unnerving......the motor it self is happy as a clam under most conditions except lack of oil.......that would be a no-no.

Definitely agree with you, oil being the blood of an engine, gauges are only a tool that gives a snapshot of what is happening at that moment. We got an explosive gas bomb going off right under our huckleberries, damn right it's going to get hot, a gauge won't change that but just report it. Heat is good, excessive heat not so good, especially when you start to squeeze. I measure temp in the back of oil pan I occasionally want to know what I am shoving back through. Grew up in a lawnmower shop with my PawPaw and learned at a young age how important oil was to air cooled engines.

No doubt about it, OIL GETS HOT, it's OK...

I'm hitting my head against the wall right now.

About a month back I started noticing vibration on decel, felt like something loose. I added a couple washers as shims to the front mount for the heck of it, and it made an immediate difference. Since I have 31K on the bike, I decided to replace both front & rear mounts with new OEM. It's better, but I still have an vibration on decel that wasn't there before. Accel and cruising are great, it's only when coming back down.

For testing purposes, at 40mph I pull in the clutch and coast, and it's not smooth. Next, I cut the engine at 40mph, and then the bike is smooth as butter. This eliminates tire/wheel issues.

Next, I put a couple washers back in to shim the front mount. This alone made it about 80% better. But I have this annoying vibration when decelerating, only at certain parts of the RPM range. This wasn't there with the old mounts until a month ago. I'm not sure what's next. It's really frustrating that I can't get this back to the way it used to ride with the original OEM mounts.
