Crazy that such a small thing was bugging me. It isn’t amazing, but it will work for now!
What did you make the cover out of?

I had a small piece of sheet steel (like 3ft x 1ft x 1/16”) and cut a circle out to size. I have no mill or anything, just a drill, dremel and a bench grinder. Took forever to get it right, but it fits pretty well.

literally had to cut it to the rough shape and size, then chuck it in the drill and run it against a grinder gently until the jagged circle was nice and uniform. Then sanded it down, quick spray with paint, and there it is.

edit: I just checked it, and it is listed as 16ga 8” x 24” weldable steel. Think I got it at Lowe’s or something a few years back.

Looks like you got it all covered now. FWIW, I like both your rides. A nice dual sport will complete the circle, if you like off road stuff like I do. Enjoy the bikes. tp

Thanks DD50, the RG is to help keep the other half happier on long rides. I like em all, and I miss my old XR600.

You've been warned...

Anything KTM or Husky, is a killer ride today. A 500cc twin, on street and DS models is coming out soon with KTM, and then soon after, Husky too. Exciting times ahead for ADV/DS riders. Japan needs to take note,.... tp

Traded in my 18 fatbob s for a 2017 Dyna wideglide. I’ve been after one for a while and the dealer gave me over book value on the fatbob. The fatbob was fun though and made 128rwhp and 119ftlb at the wheel but didn’t have the classic feel like my 1990 softail 80evo. The 103 in stock form runs pretty decent. So I can so I gave a Dyna a new home.

Congrats on the new scoot. In motorcycles, it's getting what we want that counts, and you got what you wanted... Cool. tp
