So it happened again this morning. Checked the resistance on the three phases of the stator and to ground and no issues there. Might be replacing the voltage regulator soon.

Did you have it on the tender again? If so, how could the voltage regulator be the problem? Did you ever get the battery tested? What is the voltage of the battery with no load on it? What is the voltage with the engine running at 2000 RPM?

I did have it on the tender but I figure if a two year old battery and the third in six years is going bad then the charging system has to be contributing to the issue.

What brand and type of battery? The cheap ones only last a year or two. And it might be your tender killing them.

I hope it's not the tender. Brand new to replace the old one that frayed at the connector and blew the pigtail fuse.

I just had to replace my tender after 2 years. it was blowing the fuse every time I plugged it in. First one I've ever had go bad in all my years riding.

Drove into the shop at 5 am, finished up my fork seal swap, and installed some new front brake pads since they were oil-soaked...forgot my key at home, so no test ride until Monday.

Ditched the black Bassani for a Supertrapp...think it looks much better, aside from the dent in the muffler thanks to UPS...not as loud too which I'm finding even at 25 I can't stand something that's "loud for nothing"...

I made a 2 inch steel bracket to move headlight forward off of lower tree. Wanted it to sit out front of guage and signals.
