Spent a little time in the garage and swapped out a couple parts. New footpegs and grips, and these little brass rocker cover bolts that will match my tank when I finally get it back from body shop jail.
The brass bolts look great... but as a sailor also, I wonder how long they'l stay looking great without constant attention?
On Friday a bunch of us road over to Thunder Beach at Panama City Beach. Great weather and great ride! We only wandered around Frank Brown Park, but that's the main venue. If I'd had more time (and a local bed...) would probably have gotten into more fun/trouble...
Many months ago I moved my turn signals from the handlebars to the forks. Yesterday I flipped my turn signals & road beams. I like the new location much better. First move from handlebars to forks...
Maybe that dealership had a "BOGO" set offer going on! Actually, what you should be doing is getting the tires you want online, then remove your wheels and take everything down to your indie. (Might wanna get the tires ordered by the 30th (tomorrow,) as that's when the rebate offers end...) For most all the tire makers.
You have to be careful buying tires online- sometimes the tires you get are cheap b/c they are older ones that didn't sell. I bought a set once and the sidewalls started cracking after a year. When i went to my dealer, they showed me where the date stamp was on the tire- turns out my 'new tires' were 6 years old.
They were cheap - about $250 plus shipping, but didn't save me anything in the long run.
