2001 TSport - picked it up from a good friend of mine in Vegas. Built little 98" motor and plenty of other goodies. Worth the two days I've spent driving in the heat to pick it up...I've wanted a TSport for a long time now, ended up being one of those opportunities that couldn't be passed up...stoked to add this to the fleet.

Pretty easy to do. Wait till your tank only has a gallon or so in the tank, take off the console and tank top plate, and pull the fuel pump loose. The filter comes out easy. The pump won't come out fully so be careful not to drop anything in to the tank. Have a replacement top plate gasket and set of top plate screws for reassembly.

I'm trying to put right a couple things that some PO changed/mickeymoused on my 01 FXD. It came to me with the tank-mounted tach and speedo, which I think is a mod. Nice, but they removed the idiot lights and just left the empty sockets in the tank console. And they replaced the eyebrow with one from an early Sportster so there was no way to reinstall the lights.
I found an eyebrow with the idiot lights, complete with wiring harness, and headlight with an LED headlight. Problem is, the harness wasn't plug-and-play with my instruments. So I cut and spliced the empty sockets of my existing harness into the new headlight assy. After a bit of soldering and heat shrink tubing, I have a working idiot light bar. Well except for the oil pressure light and neutral light. I need to do a bit more troubleshooting to sort that.
One thing i noticed about the LED headlight is that it seems to be fan cooled (?). When the headlight comes on there is what sounds like a small fan in the headlight. Not sure I'm digging that.
Does anybody know if that's what that sound is?

Still have it, turning out to be a bigger project than anticipated. I have a couple people interested in it, might let it go.

Rode it to the store to get Copenhagen...I dug out the old SEPST and hooked up the laptop and recorded the ride while I was at it and updated the map. It's a beautiful day to ride.

Yep... When I was looking for an LED replacement bulb I found many of them had fans to cool the unit.
After 3 failed attempts with bulbs that wouldn't fit in the can, I ended up with a Day-Maker knock-off.

Got the upper shock covers and shock bolt covers back from the powdercoater a few days ago. Reassembled the shocks and installed them. Now I just need to clean the rest of the bike so the other black parts match the new shiny ones.
