My goal is to make it look a good bit like the following bike- for looks only really. Minus the chrome whale dork air cleaner of course - lol. I don't do any serious riding on this bike, just blast around town on it. I have the Kawasaki for handling, performance, or long distance riding in comfort.

Makes sense. I just think Softail platform is better suited for that and looks cooler for what you want to achieve, but of course it's your bike and what matters is that you're having fun building it up. I wish I stopped at some point and enjoyed riding more, but wrenching/modding bug got better of me.

Btw remember reading somebody said those pipes are headers and slip ons - I think they are drags. You can get em on ebay for cheap.

Rode to work for the last time this year to run out some more gas before I have to drain the tank. Hoping to get to take the crossover off this weekend to install a quick disconnect shut-off valve on the crossover this weekend so I don't have to drain it when I take the tank off anymore.

I got a quick disconnect to go on my crossover too. Hoping to install it next week when I'm off work and not riding it every day, along with some black turn signals. I might even try to black out some other parts with PlastiDip, too. I'm sure my wife, though, has plenty of "HoneyDos" for me already, that will likely fill up the time I have off.

Just in case you were wondering what white walls would look like:

I never even noticed the tank bags on this bike until you put them on yours. Cool!!!!

Installed an HD tach with some mickey mouse ears. Single speedo just looked wrong behind my batwing fairing.

Over 60 degrees here and even sunshine for an hour. Working in the driveway, showers kept coming in and out during the day. Should have gone riding but I've had these parts for weeks and wanted to make sure the tach worked.

Off work on a Friday? Wife left town? Working on my scooter a couple days before Christmas? I'd call that a good day.

I get a lot of "Nice Sportster" complements on my bike from people who don't really know Harley Davidson's. Sometimes they are just trying to insult as "they think" a Sportster is a women's bike. I had one guy at a bike show tell me that the Dyna's are a women's bike, I asked him what he was riding, he said a Road Glide, I laughed and said a Road Glide is a women's bike, it comes from the factory with the handbags already attached...Haha.

To me the white walls go with the era of the tank badges, just need to change the air filter cover to add some confusion.
