I think thats a good thing. If you are real precise edge matching the cover to the comp it will only improve oiling to the comp. I might try to get a hold of a plastic tray to do the same.

What tolerance would you be looking for, and what "claying" type product do you recommend? Thanks, Alan.

Me. Id give it no more than 1/8". I like Playdough. Any way you do it its gunna be a pain but IMO worth it. Hell with this comp id like to see scoops on the inner primary to direct the oil to the holes.

Yeah, the oiling is going to come from the inside or the bottom now with those scoops. The outside looks to be sealed up, don't think that the SE oiling tray is going to help much but why grind down any more than necessary, might still hit the end of that compensator bolt and then get flung(is that a real word?) around.

Scroll through this. There is a cut away of the interference with the HD tray.

Got the Baker comp installed, the chain alignment was within spec, .012 so I didn't need any spacers. This is a good lookin primary! All it needs is an evo industies billet basket. Surprisingly the stock comp still looked pretty good so I'm not sure that's the noise that I've been chasing. We'll see, I can't wait to try this comp out. New tire goes on tomorrow but of course while I was at it I noticed my pads are worn to nothing... So the bike will be parked for about a week waiting on the lyndall pads

Damn, it's a shame to put a cover on that setup!

Nothing like a nice simple primary.

Hey monster, looks great! Looks like you might have done like me - did you tighten down the comp with the chain caught on the inner primary??

Nothing in the SM to avoid that...just another lesson learned. Don't think it can happen with the Baker adjuster, but with the stock or Hayden adjuster, it is easy.
