Keep us posted man hope all gets sorted out on the big *** motor of yours. I wouldn't let that go no matter the size motor it was on.

Ok I got the fin pretty much straightened out. It's not perfect but it's close, I can still screw with it some more too. Kirby seems to think the crack is of no risk of running what do you guys think? Really don't want to wait another 2 months for new cylinders.

Got the motor in the bike. Had 2 buddies here to help me, went in through the brake side, piece of cake. She's finally back where she belongs

Looks good. I would have done the same. You will be the only one who knows its there. Only cosmetic. Damb shame though.

Looks so freaking good. Hopefully he's right that it won't make any difference but is there any chance that he would replace the cylinder if needed, or perhaps through shipping company insurance?

Either way, congrats on getting it in, getting closer!!

Yah just wonder how it will act once heated and it rattling over time. Love the powdered covers.

Here is my question: was the packaging solid and maybe the shippers dropped it off the airplane onto the tarmac or was the packaging marginal and Kirby should be offering you a new cylinder?

I think you have done a good job, but I bet you are pissed and are dealing with it the best way you know how.

Hang in there Monster. I know your frustration trying to get things together & running into roadblocks & problems. It's good to know I'm not the only one that goes thru things like this with engine builds. The cyl. fin looks fine & after everything is together & running good you'll forget all about it.

I'd be cryin if it was me man. What a bitch. Honestly, if you can trust your builder and he assures you it's purely cosmetic and won't become an issue a year down the road then to hell with it. Fire that bad boy up and hold on tight. Once your riding you'll forget all about it.
