Take it someone who knows how to run a buffer. By using a foam pad and a nice polish you will see the swirls removed instantly. I do it to my fathers geezerglide onceevery 3 monthsand makes his black deep and rich looking with no swirls.
Check out glaze as mentioned above. For my bike when I detail it I use a claybar first, then 3m hand glaze, followed by zymol wax with a buffer. Almost look's like looking into a mirror.
i just used it today for the first time. had a bit of marking on rear fender from the bags rubbing on it. used a wax and sealer after and it looks good as new
griotsgarage.com they sell an orbital buffer and all the chemicals you will ever need to get any scratches out that can be gotten out by buffing. All my vehicles are black and their products are excellent. The benefit of the orbital buffer is you cannot burn thru you paint like a high speed buffer can. I had a passenger that left her legs lay on the top of my bags on the Roadking and after 3 hours it looked like someone had rubbed the lids with sand paper. Clay bar, polish, then wax and they looked like new.
I've got a couple of those cloudy spots from the leathers on my tank as well. I've tried the scratchX serveral times and rubbed until my shoulder was sore and they are still there. Would this be the time to try the claybar technique? I've never used one before, but would like to get those spots out and new wax applied.
