Wax Chrome or Not?

Wax Chrome or Not?
Hi everyone, i was wondering if most of you wax your chrome or if waxing is even suggested on chrome. I know there are a lot of chrome cleaners out there, but not looking at cleaning, merely protecting. Again, not sure if chrome is even supposed to be waxed, so thought i would ask what proper care is. thnx,mb

I've done it before.. Turns out nice, but wow a lot of work.
Keeping chrome clean I would imagine is the best thing.. Keeping the dirt we can't see off the surface so it can't make scratches.
Some people I've seen are rough on their chrome when they wash the bike.
I treat it just like a nice paint job with lots of soap suds.
To answer your question though, waxing it probably can't hurt it I guess and might protect it, as long as it's good and clean. It also takes off watermarks (which is leftover residue/debris).

Yeah, if you have the time. For tough areas or aluminum parts I dip the Never DUll wadding into some mothers chrom cleaner and wow. Kept lookign for better. Tried the Simichrome and hated it (not saying others don't love it!) Mys ister is big into chrome on her 68 Camaro (talk about chrome!) she had tried everything the past five years and she gave a little Wenol and bam, that's the best chrome cleaner/polish I have found (blue tube). As per wax, Pig Snot, oh my gosh! The Snot is the sheeeit! Great on paint and worked great after polishing the chrome. Smells good too :>

Yeah no kitting.. The pig snot is great stuff!!
I have the detailer which kind of leaves a film that I'm not all that crazy about unless you've got a good absorbtive cloth... The wax though is terrific and easy to use. I try to hit the sheet metal about every 3rd to 5th wash. Last time I used it, I said "what the heck" and hit the big chrome parts also.. I was pleasantly pleased with the results.. Don't know if it's proper or not, but I tried it anyway.

I wax the chrome on the pipes and other areas as well like the struts and so forth I have had no problem just have to wipe good on pipes and get all off but it is not problem. Makes it shine nice. I use mothers on aluminum stuff to polish it.

I also wax all of my chrome every other week. It makes any dirt and debris slide ride off so it's much easier to keep the bike cleans and best of all, it shines like a diamond. I've been using the Harley glaze wax. I havent tried the chrome cleaners so I don't know the difference.
