EZ Off oven cleaner. Get it hot, spray it on, wipe it off. Do not get the cleaner on anything else.

Spray it on a towel far far away from any painted surfaces.
Wipe with the towel.

Do not get on anything, especially paint or aluminum.

If it's small, might try some 00000 steel wool.

Oya, those micro-fibers are synthetic.

Did the same thing a couple days ago, I used Hoppes#9 gunmetal polish and elbow grease took about 30-35 minutes and couple of MGD's. Used the same cloth to take it off. Just make sure they cool of a bit, I waited until they were warm to the touch.

I use Mr. Clean magic eraser, I'm not sure that it's reconmended for chrome but it works and I haven't had any problems.

Spray some APC (all-purpose cleaner) on a rag and place on the heat shield...let soak for 30 min or so. Then scrape off with a plastic razor or plastic putty knife.
