Default Removing Swirls from Polished Aluminum

What would be the best way to remove swirls from a polished aluminum surface? It almost looks like brushed aluminum right now from the swirling. What kind of polishing compound could I try to get it back to a polished surface?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

The swirls are from someone using hrome cleaner on the polished aluminum triple trees. The surface is still perfectly smooth, just lots of swirling. Anything would look better right now. I may buy a new tripple tree kit if I can't get the swirls out any other way.

You could go over them with Scotch Brite(red pad),then polish.

Yikes don't do this!

If the aluminum is not coated use 600 grit or finer then protect with AutoSol paste,or another high quality paste. If it is coated trade the bike or put up with the swirls.

Blue Magic Aluminum polish. Use it on my aluminum wheels etc. and makes it look like chrome.

Whats wrong with the Scotch brite?

I should say only use the Scotch Brite on bare metal. This will leave a satin finish and will remove minor defects.
The the bare metal would still have to be polished after.

The swril marks could be from something that eat thru the coating.

Try using a high speed buffing wheel along with Flitz, Semichrome, Never-Dull or Blue Magic.

Triple trees are usually clear coated? If its clear coated, you would use the same procedure as removing swirls from any other painted surface...Unless the clear is burned through?
