Default Demin paint and washing.

The dealer told me to just use soap and water to clean my Demin paint on my tank and fenders. Any others out ther with Demin paint jobs and what do you use to clean and wash your bike?

Yep, I just use a mild soap and water, that's it for my wash. In between, I keep a bottle of Harley Gloss and a soft microfiber cloth in my bags for wipe downs. Particularly after gassing her up...in case of a drop on the tank. Windex also works fine for me if I don't have the Harley Gloss handy. I love the low maintenance with denim.

Thanks for the info bro. Ya low maintenance and the flat black demin look just fits me and the bike nicely. I am still debating if I black the whole bike out or just leave a few chrome pieces. After this week end only crome will be air cleaner, fowards, shocks, front end, and horn cover.

I debated the same thing. Gonna keep some chrome on mine but I do like the blacked out look a lot! When I finish the pipes, lower forks and wheels, I'm gonna repaint mine in flat black denim. Don't like the pinstriping and tank logo.

Enjoy your baby!

I waxed my denim black the other day. What a ***k up. Can't get the swirls out. Tried windex, dishwashing soap, HD denim paint spray and S100. The clear white swirls (d=for lack of a better description) just don't come out. Someone give me some ideas, please!!!

Ahhhh!!!! Sh*t!!! Dude, bummer. I was talking to my paint and body guy the other day and he mentioned something like scotchbright (I think so don't do it!). I'll ask him tomorrow and if someone doesn't post up, I'll let ya know what he says.

You might want to ask over in the softail forum (can't see what uv got as I'm on the mobile version). Lots of riders there with denim paint and this forum isn't as heavily trafficked.

PM me if you figure it out otherwise I'll let you kniw what my paint guy has to say.
