Default Cleaning 'burnt' jean pattern off chrome exhaust!

It appears that I 'burnt' the pattern of my jeans legs into the chrome of my one Bub/Rinehart exhaust. To date, I've tried: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, dry cleaning fluid, NevrDull, H-D Tire/Wheel Cleaner. Nothing has touched it so far. Looks like h***! Does anyone have any suggestions to clean/polish the exhaust heat shield? Thanks.

Use some fine steel wool, the kind for furniture refinishing. I use it all the time to remove boot marks from my exhaust. Don't worry, it won't scratch your rineharts, it'll actually polish them up real purdy.

00000 or finer only, or it will leave marks.

Take a rag with some all-purpose cleaner and wrap it, lay it , whatever on the pipe. In 45 to an hour remove the rag and take plastic razor blade ( or putty knife ) and scrape off.

My dealer suggested WENOL, a paste from Germany. And it works, cleaned marks and polished chrome well. Apply paste and use a soft cloth to buff off marks. My marks took some work but paste was not abrasive.

I've read other post suggesting oven cleaner.

Absolutely avoid oven cleaner, one drop in the wrong place is problems. Use WENOL.

I was skeptical at first until I found that it works. In my case, took some buffing but no scratches! Found out that oven cleaner is NOT the lotion to use! It cleans everything of metal, even the coatings you wnat to stay, for instance, paint, powder coat, etc. Just WENOL and some elbow grease.

No idea, but I have a hell of a burn scar on my leg from someone's pipes. That doesn't come off either!
