Default Question about cleaning chrome

I know alot of people who detail cars & trucks. When polishing chrome wheels they often use a dremel tool or die grinder with a soft cone tip to polish the chrome. I have only watched this be done. They apply a coat of chrome polish, let it sit for a few minutes, and then run the tool across it. Chrome wheel look new after being done, and it saves a lot of time. Has anyone tried this on there bike? Just wondering if this might be an easy way to keep the chrome looking new. May even work for removing fine scratches. Let me know what you think.
