currious to know if anybody has found a good cleaner to use on aluminum wheels on a fatboy. i tried mothers reflections wheel cleaner and a nylon brush with little success. ANY SUGGESTIONS??????????
i use a product called speedy aluminum polish and cleaner, i used it on my sportster and on my superglide. now i have a road king and only have to polish the outer edges of the rims. it wotks great though and when finished it looks like chrome
Trick is to head off the problem before it begins. The stock pads deposit brake dust...difficult to get to and you have to keep on top of it before it screws up the wheels. Lyndall pads solve the problem.
I recently made the mistake of cleaning the wheels on my fatboy with a wheel cleaner purchased from Walmart. The wheel cleaner oxidized my wheels and I honestly thought they were ruined. I tried just about everything including the mothers cleaners, fortunately I ended up purchasing a product at a motorcycle expo called Master Formula, you've probably seen these guys at shows cleaning coins etc. This stuff is amazing! They make a metal gloss (cleaning) and a sealer gloss (protective film). Check em out at http://www.master-formula.com/ . Took a little elbow grease but my wheels now look better than ever.
