Default something to protect the paint??

Hi,

I am looking for something to put on my Roadking side covers to keep the saddle bags from damaging the paint. They are rubbing through the clear coat into the paint. i just had them repainted and don't want to have to do it again.

Has anyone used clear mylar sheets or something similar from 3M? The plan would be to put a few sheets to build up a protective layer but still be able to see the pain job.

thanks!!!

Some sign shops use the clear, static-cling sign material...some might even have a few scrap pieces that they'll give you. Worth a try.
