Really hard to tell what is going on there. Is that orange peel? Are the dots convex or concave? If both lids are covered in whatever that is, you have a QC issue/defect I would say...but I have no idea what quality of paint is coming out these days...

it’s definitely not orange peel, although there is some of that. I can’t feel them by hand (haven’t tried the plastic baggie test yet) so I’m inclined to think they’re concave. One of these days I’ll try to polish a small section to see if there’s an improvement. It’s one of those things you only notice if you’re looking for it. Unfortunately, I’m always looking for “it”.

Blue Bikes are the best! Mine is Ford Blue Flame.

I'd hit them with a clay bar to see what you get, then a light polish and reassess?

Ha, haven't even thought about it for a while. Had it for over a year now. Time for a change!

That'll be about as far as I'm willing to go with it because I suspect it's what eagle mentioned.

10-4 on blue bikes are the best. My 06 is custom candy blue and my 18 is Electric Blue. Also my truck is Ford Lightning Blue.
