Default Tears varnish

Hi guys, my motorcycle was laying on the ground and fuel leaked from the gas tank. So now my varnish got damage, is it possible to fix it by myself? Or does it need to be repainted? Thanks

IMO you need a professional to fix that damage.

Take it to 2 or 3 Shops and see what they want to fix your issue!

1. we normally use kick stands or what these hd boys refer to as the 'jiffy stand'....it's a kick stand
2. great first post
3. you're new to bikes, eh?
4. i'd have it stripped to metal, and repainted with a new 'varnish' coat on top

Welcome Vladimir.

Posts 3 & 4 are good advice

Post 5 is just unnecessary snark

As mentioned, unfortunately that's going to be a respray on the tank. No amount of detailing is going to replace paint that's been removed.

mostly unnecessary, but the advice to have it stripped to metal is good advice and well intended.....if the fuel did that to the clear coat, it likely effected the paint and primer as well
