Default Just a funny "detailing" story

So I took my bike to a local indy shop for some much needed work. Great shop, been around forever, great service. I go to pick up the bike and all seems fine, and I'm about to jump on and go home. Just then the mechanic looks and says,"hey there some grime on your tank, let's get that off", and he then sticks his hand under his sweaty t-shirt and rubs it on my tank! I politely tried to stop him, telling him "don't worry about it. I'll take care of it when I get home". But he was having none of that as he quickly said in his cool southern accent, "Oh that's OK, I can't let you leave here with a dirty bike."

He meant well..... Bless His Heart!

When I was a kid working at the gas station on the corner the owner always wiped the car with a shop rag ( orange one ) when he was done

I can remove the fairings, bags, side panels, fenders and gas tank from a bike
wash each piece, decontaminate, and clay bar
bench polish each one to perfection
i'll prep each piece, coat them in the finest ceramic coating a hack like me is allowed to buy
then 'white glove' install each perfected piece

and the first time my wife gets on it, she'll drag her ****ing boot across the top of one of the saddle bags and coyly say "Oooops....hehe"

when it's perfect, enjoy it....it will last about 15 minutes

I have a story that"s not so funny ,but is kind of heart warming.
Guy next door to me saved up for a long time to buy a new Chevy Suburban. It snowed heavy one night and his 2 small little boys came out and cleaned their Dads new truck off.
Problem is they used snow shovels to do it. Really F==ked that truck up. They were standing there proud as could be thinking they had really done their dad a favor.

What are you going to do he told me.

Time to get either leather or vinyl saddle bag lid covers and use them when she rides with you.
