Hey, your missing the point. The guy was just asking what product out there will remove
swirls and scratches, not just a 2 hour cover-up with pledge. Just something that possibly
some one of the 36k people on this forum might have used and works. Lets not change
this to another Lemmon Pledge forum. Please!

Hey, you're right, I missed the point, sorry.

OK, stores that sell automotive paint have all kinds of polishing products. One is referred to as "swirl mark remover." It's a very fine rubbing compound. It's used after a paint job is buffed with a somewhat coarser compound to smooth it.

They would know what you want.

Swirlmark removers are not compounds..they are not even polishes. They are glazes used to fill in imperfections.

Well semantics. I'm thinking of what we referred to as swirlmark remover when I was a painter in a body shop years ago.

Something like Black Gold (brand name) has the finest of abrasives in it. You can use it with a buffer but we always finished by hand to rub in straight lines.

If they're really light scratches I would use a filler wax. S100 actually does a pretty good job of hiding light marks.
If the swirls are a little worse then you might want to use a polish. I've heard the Mequiars scratchx works, just a lot of effort to get the marks out.
A random orbital buffer(like the Porter cable 7224) with a good polish(I like Optimum products) will give you really good results. You can get 4" pads since it's a smaller work surface. I haven't used Optimum on my bike yet but my black car looks great after polishing out the swirl marks.

HI 3 Dog

I apprecaited your comments following previous posts, so I wanted to ask your opinion again...

I see a lot of post about ZAINO's product, have you ever used them, are they OK in your opinion?

What about use on this new bike I have coming, should I buy one of their starter packs that include everything as well as the shampoo??

There is nothing wrong with Zaino products. They are not my favorite but many others love them. If you want to go with Zaino you can get by (great shine) with just their All-in-One and Clear Seal.
