RE: Newbie here how to wash my bike...
Cleaning the motor will involve using EZ Brush, paint brushes, Pimp Stixx w/MF and polishing soap. Exhaust will be done at this time also. Rinse, Rinse, Rinse.
You should be at around the two hour mark now aready to do the handbars and paint. This is were we use the dual dolly with 2.5 gal buckets. We will use polishing soap first with honeycomb pads and paint brushes. Rinse well and the move to washing with open back sheepskin mitts. The washing is pretty straight forward remebering to rinse often...wash front fender, rinse..wash gas tank, rinse..etc, ect.
We dry with a combination of Black Baron dryer and WW. For controls is works good to hold a MF on the backside while blowing. On wheels you can spend way to long try to get them dry with just a blower. Water tend to want to rotate around the wheel. Much easier to blow out the majorty of water then hit with the MF.
Plexus on the windshield.....then we will hit it again with Blackfire Plastic Cleaner and Polish.

Some of the wash cycle products we use (substitutions can be made):
Some brand of foaming citrus cleaner
DP Foam Gun Soap
EF Power Wash+ with PB Bug Squash added.
Scrubbing Bubbles
Menz Wheel Gel
PS100 Polishing Soap.
Tire Cleaner (cut)
Blackfire Plastic C/P
Clay (was not mentioned in wash process but we do this at the time we wash the paint)
If you want any info on the rest of out procedure (post wash) let me know.
And by the way (per our process) every bike we do leaves our shop with tire dressing. We have never had a problem yet.Hopefully I didnt leave out anything important!!

Wholy Cow 3Dog
Haha.. wow.. that's a good amount of dedicated washing steps to each section all those different pads and brushes and soaps...
Yeah, you dont need to necessarily give us your work's trade secrets.. just wanted to know the perfect routine to clean a bike proper.. (the best order)
like polish before glazeing or waxing or swirl remover before polishing.. chrome before paint... that sorta thing
Special procedures like for scuffing/swirls/scratches/nicks.......strip wax then swirl remover..maybe use orbital then polish and then wax.
So after degreasing, washing and drying and wheel dressings.. whats next

Polish is used to repair defects...scratches, swirls, spiderwebs, etc.
Swirl removers are glazes....they dont repair, they fill.
Chrome without defects only needs to be cleaned to shine......dont polish when its not necessary.
Polish
Glaze (if all defects are not removed during polishing)
Protect...wax or sealant
Mild polishing should only be done at most3 times a year.
It would be hard to teach using machines to polish in a thread like this. What I can say is work the product till it flashes. Once the abrassives have broken done the job should be done. Its not unusual to work a small section by machine for 5 minutes or more.

Awesome 3dog...
serious.. might seem trivial to you.. but having all these products seemed kinda confusing
ill be printing that out a bit more formated(plus stuff from your previous 3 posts) and stick on my tool box
and i really want to take care of my new bike and its custom paint...

RE: Newbie here how to wash my bike...
I am in Nashville. PM me for other info.
Charges start at 125.00...thats pretty standard except for bikes competing in shows.
I dont want to mislead..I do not wash my bike like that weekly. Maybe four times a year. And on new customer details. I am always surprised when riders say they paid for a full detail....you bend down , run your hand under the frame and come up with grease and dirt.
I have other methods for quick washes (weekly). And weekly washes will depend on how much you ride. With gas pricesI have been riding everywhere.
