Default Thunder Mountain bikes

Just came across these last week. Im really likeing the Baditude bikes. I love the fact they have a 103" SE motor, fat tire kit, and a little rake while still keeping HD parts for the most part. I know they dont hold their value as well as a true HD but Im not too worried about that. Ive found some Baditudes in 05-06 year range running 15-18K. However I see FLSTFSE's (SE Fatboys) of the same year, running about the same. Im just wondering if anyone has any experience with these bikes? Im in a harsh debate with myself about going with a Baditude or an SE bike and just modding it further.

Default Tmc

I have an 09 TMC Keystone and I would buy it again. Flawless - handles amazing, power, looks, speed, and with HD reliability.

There were issues with older Thunder Mountain Bikes but there have been improvements in later models with less overall issues. With that being said to have the least amount of problems i have found that buying a stock Harley and customizing it, is by far the best way to go with a lot less head ache, plus you can customize it the way you want.

It's time for harley-davidson to do a modern fxr5 with xr-1200x suspension and brakes and a 103" twin cam 6-speed.

Seen a couple used ones shipped off to auction because they could not sell them off the floor.

Hmmmm...You mean FXR's? Once in awhile I see one but not very often. What I'm talking about is very different. A modern interpretation.

Thunder Mountain, Iron Horse bikes show up from time to time as trades at dealers they are most often in great shape low miles.
However they don't sell. There is a reason they folded up and locked the doors.
Now there are exceptions to everything but as a general rule they are hard to unload on the used market.
If it is a bike you want good shape selling cheap why not you can get or make any part you may need down the road for it
