Default 05 Big Dog Pit Bull rigid

I am looking at this bike, it looks great, 117" SS 6 spd, all the right stuff.
My questions are, Is Big Dog brand OK? And I have never ridden a rigid, I have a 2011 Limited to ride distance trips, this is a bang around town 100 150 mi day fun bike.

Thanks,

Mark

You forgot to state your age and health..hows your back?

Personally im in great health, mid 30's and no way in hell would I take a rigid over my ultra for a 100-150 mile day.. unless it was in stages of 20/30 mile increments with stops

Thanks, that is the info I was wondering about. I am kicking around the idea but will likely go for a TMC or Big Bear.

I'd stay away from BD. I know they have a ton of electrical issues with the ECU/ECM. I haven't folloed up on the newest models but the problem existed for many years (04 to at least 09). Plus some 05 bikes had a different set of rocker boxes other then S/S. Top Performance I think and they had problems.

Thanks Jim,

More very useful info. I seem to remember some rumbling about wiring and elect. issues. That would be a drag.. Thanks again.

what size reare tire... when you say all the right stuff what do you mean? what type of primary, what is the drive line, how is the rear brake/sporcket set up? pics would help... lots of ignition issues on these scoots make sure it is well vented

I have decided against the Big Dog....I have had more trouble with the virtual bike than I would want with the actual bike!

Thanks
