Default How do you by-pass a Bank angle sensor on twin cam engine.

Just wondering if anyone would know how to by pass a twin cam Bank angle sensor wiring and bank angle sensor. I think the bank sensor is used for the ignition feed. In the process of installing a 00' twin cam into a softail custom frame using a carburetor & single fire ignition system-- Im, using a DYNA Ignition. Agian was just curious if anyone had any ideas? Thanks all.

It would all depend on the ignition system you plan on using. In a stock ignition system, which is single fire, you need the crank position sensor so the ignition knows when to fire. The bank angle sensor supplies an ignition enable signal to the ignition module allowing it to work.

What ignition did you have in mind? I have used the stock style ignitions on custom bikes and they retain both the crank position and bank angle sensors.

Hey Springer, You happen to know about bypassing the bank sensor?

Its been my experience that it is easier to put it in than to bypass it. It puts out a signal to enable the ignition module. If I remember correctly, it is a 5 volt signal. You would have to duplicate the signal. IMO, it would be much easier to just use the bank angle sensor. Is there some reason why you don't want to use it? It is very simple to install and mount with a single bolt.

yes, we run the wiring inside the frames. Looking for a way to lessen the work of running the extra wiring & drilling extra hole for concealment of the wire. I heard somewhere that you could , LOOP the wire @ the module, which I mount a the rear of the frame below the back fender for appearence reasons.
Thanks springer.
