Default KZ200, little house hopper

well about a year ago i got this KZ200 on a trade... it has just been sitting there... so my brother really needed a new project now that his chop and the goldwing are done... so i handed it off... and he and i have spent some time wrenching... it is only a 200 so it is not going to be a distance bike or anything, just going to build a 2 up brat to run back and forth to eachothers house, with knobbies of course

before:

shot of the bike

Café bars

* i dont have the pics of when he did the frame/ wheels but we do have the photos and will upload them... but here are the pics i do have

frame is done in low gloss satin, wheels are in caution yellow and will leave the chrome rings

and my buddy Justin snagged up a yellow set of grips for him

Well gave my brother his early christmas gift... i took almost all the metal off thei bike, took it to the shop, i chopped bobbed the fender, speed holed the chain guard, did a ton of work to the metal... then i blasted it all down and coated it all in satin black... got to the shop at 7pm left at 4:45am ha haha got alot done! just have to do some airbrush work on his tank, but i got that stripped and blasted... was a good day!

for the powder Sean and i had a pound of this satin black that neither he or i liked, seemed to have a shadow in it, and on one or two parts it just did not do it for us, so the powder was just sitting. i figured i may as well just use it up or else we would have to throw it away... on a ton of parts it looks wicked!!!!

round 1

round 2

my brother liked the flat tracker bars so much that we used on seans build (goldwing) so i ordered him a set, blasted and coated those as well

man i tell ya, satin black is hard to photograph... got the base coat on the tank... i laid it in powder instead of paint so that we can decide to change the graphics and remove them without harming the base coat (powder is chemical resistant) but who knows satin powder can be picky wiht showing stains if i was to try and remove paint from it. so we will prob just airbrush the graphics and clal it a ball... also blasted about 23 parts for my harley while i was working in there... did not get time to lay powder though, new shop is awesome! just awesome... love all the room and all the new toys (tools)
fresh out the oven on the cooling rack

had some time this afternoon so i finished my brohters tank and shocks

shocks re assembled

tank masked

air brush work done
*i layered it for a 3d look

done
*the stock badges where in like NEW condition, since that is so rare to find we decided to leave them, not paint them or nothing, just leave them as is for a bit of original flavor
I think it was a good choice
(if we do paint them the white will go yellow and nothing else)

what tank is complete without a gas cap!

well i was not 100% that i liked how it came out, so i redid it... this time it is final, cleared and all, did a 2 tone with it instead, pics are a bit wacked, i still have to blend the edges but i have to give the clear 72 hours before i can blend it in... looks good though the satin clear made a big dif to give it depth, also shadowed the skulls in a thinned out yellow. looks good. can not wait to clean up the edge of the tape marks!!!!

remasked

after the clear

cold as **** out... but dropped the stuff off by Mike yesterday and slapped the tank on real fast and the rear shocks... has the perfect flow... seat has to go 100% but gives us an idea of the finished product
