RE: Close one...now what
I have a Mid-USA 230 Fat-A-Tude frame...holding up nicely. However the Motor snapped a rod & blew out the back & bottom of the case. (photos attached)
It was out of warranty - 2 yrs./ 20,000 miles; the motor was purchased in 2001, but didn't have nearly 20,000 miles on it. I contacted Custom Chrome directly (they are the distributors of thr Rev Tech engines) I sent them an email of the blown up engine & he asked if I would send it to them so their techs could look at it. I Just had to bring it to an authorized Custom Chrome dealer & they sent a crate for it. I didn't expect to get anything, maybe a $500 credit to Custom Chrome, but 2 weeks later the authorized dealer called me & said there is a new engine in their shop for me. Props to Custom Chrome for standing behind their products, they said it must have been a faulty rod.
Moral of the story...go straight to the source & see what they say. Good Luck
BTW anyone need a 100" Rev Tech -new in the box
