sputters bad, stalled...think I found the problemconnected
The little two pronged connection that is bolted on to the tranny, for the tailight/brakelight had vibrated out. Pluged it back in, had lights! Tried ignition, started! I have not run it on the road yet, but if this was vibrating loose, would it cause the sputtering and once disconnected cause it to run very badly...the bike would keep running but have a bad electrical connection. My lights come on when the key is turned on. Of course when it stalled, it wouldnt start because of the break in the electrical circuit? Hope this in the only problem. Now to figure out how to prevent this in the future!

No, this was not shop built, really screwed up wiring. OK, the tail light connection was the problem with no lights. The start problem was a shorting wire, broken inside the insulation, it lead to the fuses. I am about to tear the wiring out and rewire from scratch,
Thanks
