My new Sucker Punch has an open belt. I've torn a couple of pant legs, but no big deal. I have a round oil tank, which makes me tend to carry my left leg out a little more (esp. when it heats up). It looks great, sounds cool as hell, and folks dig it.

Have run a BDL open belt for 10 yrs, only time I had trouble at all was when I was wearing a baggy pair of jean. All it did was catch, spin around the pulley and kick back out. Felt like someone slapped me on the thigh as the pant leg was jerked down. Didn't pull my foot off the peg or anything like that. I don't wear those jeans on the bike anymore, though.

NO PROBLEMO!!
Is that an Ultama belt drive? I have been thinking of getting one, how do you like it? I have a BDL internal drive andWith the 100" motor, if I really twist the throttle, I rip the belt to pieces.

I would not hesitate to put one on. Depending on how low your bikes sits and how large of a primary/primary cover one may go with.... those left hand turns could be tough
